La casa como memoria viva: injertos domésticos en ruinas vernáculas

espanolLa introduccion de injertos domesticos es una estrategia utilizada recientemente en la reutilizacion de arquitecturas tradicionales abandonadas. El artefacto insertado satisface las exigencias de uso y confort del habitar actual, mientras que la preexistencia aporta valores asociados a la memoria del lugar, del propio edificio y de quienes lo habitaron. La Reconversion de una ruina en Geres (Souto de Moura, 1980-82), constituyo una de las primeras y mas lucidas reflexiones sobre la permanencia de la imagen de ruina en proyectos domesticos contemporaneos. Entre objeto y preexistencia surge una relacion contrastante por su antitetica naturaleza temporal, funcional, formal y material, que se combinan simbioticamente en un hibrido arquitectonico. Las casas E/C (Sami Arquitectos), Dovecote Studio (Haworth Tompkins), Casa en Tebra (Irisarri&Pinera) o Rifugio Paraloup (Castellino, Cottino, Barberis & Regis) tambien se explora la interaccion entre la ruina y el habitar actual: la cuestion de la casa como memoria viva. EnglishThe insertion of homegrafts is a strategy recently used in several projects for the reuse of traditional abandoned architectures. The inserted artifact meets the current standards of functionality and comfort, while the pre-existence provides values associated with the memory of the place, of the building itself and of who lived there. The reconversion of a ruin in Geres (Souto de Moura, 1980-82) has become one of the first and most lucid reflections on the permanence of the image of ruin in contemporary domestic projects. Between the object and the pre-existence a contrasting relation emerges due to their antithetical chronological, functional, formal and material identities, which merge symbiotically into an architectural hybrid. In E/C House (Sami Architects), Dovecote Studio (Haworth Tompkins), House in Tebra (Irisarri + Pinera) or Rifugio Paraloup (Castellino, Cottino, Barberis & Regis) the interaction between ruin and contemporary dwelling is also explored: the question of the house as living memory.
