Expression of MMP-1 on the injury of chondrocytes in vitro induced by nivalenol

Objective To observe the expression of MMP-1 on the injury of chondrocytes in vitro induced by nivalenol.Method Human chondrocytes cultured in vitro were treated with different concentrations of NIV(0.025,0.1,0.5 mg·L-1)for 5 days.MMP-1 mRNA was determined by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The levels of MMP-1 in culture media were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Overexpression of MMP-1 mRNA was detected in NIV toxin treated cells.The levels of MMP-1 in NIV treated culture media were higher than those in normal control group.Conclusion NIV toxin can enhance MMP-1 synthesis,which may play an important role in the injury of chondrocytes in vitro induced by NIV.
