Ekeland’s Variational Principle, Convex Functions and Asplund-Spaces

In this paper we discuss the following topics in infinite dimensional optimization theory: The Ekeland variational principle and some of its equivalent formulations, differential properties of convex functions in Banach Spaces and the theory of Asplund Spaces.
