Diferenciación hidrogeológica de acuíferos kársticos en la cuenca alta del río Turón (Serranía de Ronda oriental) mediante un ensayo multitrazador Hydrogeological differentiation of karst aquifers located in the headwaters of Turón river (eastern Serranía de Ronda) by a multitracer test

2012
A multitracer test carried out in the headwaters of Turon river (eastern Serrania de Ronda, Malaga province) allowed to define the recharge and discharge areas, as well as to precise the hydrogeological functioning of the karst aquifers studied. Results confirm that the groundwater drainage of the eastern part of Sierra Hidalga aquifer and of the central sector of Sierra Blanquilla aquifer feed Turon river waters, while western part of the latter aquifer seems to drain toward Ronda basin. The high groundwater flow velocities deduced from the trace experiment performed at Sierra Hidalga aquifer, up to 190 m/h, evidence a typical karstic behaviour. The relationships between surface waters and groundwaters in the catchment area of Turon river has been also demonstrated.
