HighResolution Spectrographs on MediumDiameter Telescopes

2013
The problem of highresolution spectroscopic observations on telescopes with diameters of D = 0.5-1.5 m is considered. Examples of the optimum technical solutions and survivability of certain telescopes and methods of observation are given in retrospect. Improvements in the technique of spectroscopy allow one to also consider the potential of those instruments that were not originally intended for use in highresolution spectroscopy. Arguments in favor of using mediumdiameter telescopes in modern highresolution spectros copy are discussed. This review is connected to the 100th anniversary of the 122cm telescope of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory.
