Crowdfunding via digital platforms, is patronage in the 21st century an alternative for the Ecuadorian cinema?

The crowdfunding has become a tangible alternative to the film industry in many countries, especially since 2009, the year in which the first specialized websites are born in this funding strategy. The network has made it possible through these platforms and the potential contributions of social networks, a creative one can be able to open to collective collaboration phase of audiovisual production, fund raising. This communication will analyze, through the study of international and national specialized in creative crowdfunding platforms, and individual projects, the exploitation that the Ecuadorian film industry is making the benefits of this new funding strategy.
