Advantages and disadvantages of the analytical calculation of induction motor's performance curves

This paper presents an advantages and disadvantages of the analytical calculation of induction motor’s performance curves in case of motor type 4KTC 112 M4 manufacturing by company named Bartec Varnost using analytic software package emLook. The company Bartec Varnost is a need to manufacture motors of high power, but in Slovenia it is not possible to test them in laboratories due to the lack of equipment. Testing can be done abroad but the cost efficiency demands most accurate calculations of electric motors. For faster calculation of the electric motors characteristics an emLook software package has been developed, which can adequately evaluate the performance of the machine. It turned out that for larger motors the nominal point calculations are good enough, but some major differences arises in the calculations of the lockedrotor position. In this article we have tried to analyze this problem and thus indicate the direction of development of the used software package emLook. For the test engine, which is described in Chapter 2, we selected engine type 112 4KTC M4, and have performed measurements and compared them with calculations of the software package emLook. 2.
