Control of oxygen content in spring steel 60Si2CrVAT

On the basis of spring steel production by 80 t converter-90 tLF-100 tRH-CC process at Huai Steel,research results showed that oxygen content at end-point of converter blowing must be reduced as much as possible by controlling tapping temperature and carbon content;controlling oxygen content of molten steel with strict control of total aluminium content in LF and RH processes,further reducing total oxygen content in spring steel by controlling the basicity of laddle refining slag R4.0 and w(FeO+MnO) contents less than 0.5 %~1 %.The total oxygen content of slab has been controlled under 10×10-6 by adoption of rational technologies.
