Treatment of stenosis induced by iatrogenic high bile duct injury:report of 144 cases

Objective In order to improve the curative effect and reduce the complication,the surgical treatment of biliary stenosis induced by iatrogenic high bile duct injury was investigated.Methods 183 cases of iatrogenic bile duct injury in recent 23 years were reviewed and analyzed.Reoperation after plerosis served as the standard of effect judgement.Results 173 out of all 183 cases received different restorations.144 cases received another 1-5 reoperations because of high bile duct stenosis.The re-operation rate was 83.24% (144/173).Conclusion Roux-y Cholangio-jejunostomy using normal bile duct above stenosis site, taking care of anastomosis methods and quality,can reduce recurrent rate of bile duct re-stenosis and improve curative effect.
