A Distributed, Parallel, and Collaborative Environment for Design of Complex Systems

This paper describes d evelopment of a multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) environment for the design of complex systems. This goal will be effectively achieved by leveraging the advantages of BLISS (Bi -Level Integrated System Synthesis) methodology together with ModelCe nter MDO framework. The solution includes a collaboration system comprising a central database and Web interfaces to create enterprise -wide design processes, multi -level parallel capability in ModelCenter to make the most use of the computing resources, an d flexible approximation models.
