Search for superheavy elements in the interaction of 136Xe and 238U with natU using the gas jet transport technique

Abstract No superheavy elements were observed among gas jet collected reaction products of ( nat U+ 136 Xe) and ( nat U+ 238 U) at the UNILAC accelerator. The upper limits for their production are ⋖ 3×10 −33 cm 2 in the half-live range 10 s ⩽T 1 2 ⩽ 1000 s .
