Treatment Effect of Bone Transport Technique on Patients with Infected Tibial Bone Defect and Nonunion

2015
Objective To explore the treatment effect of bone transport technique on patients with infected tibial bone defect and nonunion. Methods An analysis was conducted on the data of 70 cases admitted in our hospital from August 2013 to October 2014. The patients were divided into two groups, the control group and the experimental group in accordance with the order of admission. The control group were given the conventional treatment, while the experimental group were treated by bone transport technique. And the indicators related to the treatment effect of the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results The overall response rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(94.3% vs 85.7%)(P0.05). The amount of bleeding was(100.5±6.8)m L, duration of operation was(66.2±8.6)min, length of stay was(11.9±3.6)d in the experimental group, which was less than that in the control group, respectively(P0.05). The number of patients with complications was less in the experimental group than that in the control group(1 case vs 9 cases)(P0.05). Conclusion For the clinical treatment of infected tibial bone defect and nonunion, bone transport technique can achieve better therapeutic effect, so it is worthy of promotion.
