Signs of the quadrupole coupling in 7LiNO3 from nuclear magnetic resonance at low temperature

The sign of the nuclear quadrupole coupling in a solid can be determined from the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrum if the temperature is sufficiently low. This fact is illustrated by a measurement of e2qQ=+926 kHz for 7Li in LiNO3.
