Controlled fabrication of Au@MnO2 core/shell assembled nanosheets by localized surface plasmon resonance

2021
Abstract In this work, we proposed a new approach for the fabrication of Au@MnO2 core/shell assembled nanosheets using localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs). When KMnO4 and Au NPs mixed solution were irradiated by 520 nm light, LSPR effect driven the reduction of KMnO4 to MnO2 on Au NPs, and gradually assembled into thin sheeted morphology. The influences of irradiation conditions and surface functional groups were systematically studied. Both 520 nm light and citrate group were proved significant for the formation of stable Au@MnO2 core-shell assembled nanosheets. This approach is controllable, green and facile, and can be extended to synthesize other complex nanomaterials for a variety of applications.
