Interactive Search Algorithm Based Automatic Generation Control Using Cascade Control and UPFC

This study deals with the automatic generation control of two-domain diverse source system. Each domain is constituted of a distributed generation constituent, a gas constituent and a thermal constituent. Further UPFC is connected with the transmission-line to enhance the dynamics of the network. Interactive search algorithm is used to optimize the cascade controller used for the secondary control of the proposed structure. The simulation result divulges the efficacy of the presented control methodology and the overall supremacy of the network when UPFC is integrated with the transmission-line.
