Continuous Leaky-wave Scanning Using Gap Waveguide and Gradient Metasurface

In this paper, a continuous scanning leaky-wave antenna based on the gap waveguide technique and gradient metasurface for X band is presented. The backward-to-forward beam scanning character for uniform LWAs is achieved by adjusting the phase constant of gradient metasurface and the height of metallic ridge. The simulation results show better performance than traditional quasi-uniform LWAs in the scan range and radiation gain.
