Analysis on Influencing Factors of Urban Commuting in China

According to the commuting data of 50 cities in China,this paper discussed the influencing factors of urban commuting with 8 indicators from three aspects of urban form,socio-economic status and transportation infrastructure level. The conclusions are as follows: urban size,per capita road area,per capita disposable income and per capita public bus number showed a significant positive influence on urban commuting in China,resulting in an increase in commuting distance and commuting time. As to the other factors,land use diversity and the per capita number of private cars showed no significant positive effect on commuting distance and time,while the population density has a bilateral influence that it will shorten the distance and lengthen the time.
