Herpes simplex/Aphthae

Herpes simplex and aphthous stomatitis are two very common diseases of the mouth. It is usually easy to distinguish them and prescribe appropriate therapy. Sometimes it is more difficult, especially in the case of herpetiform aphthae (Fig. 2, 4).
