Metabolism of Diazinon in Alfalfa

1970
Analysis of alfalfa for diazinon residues indicated that diazinon was absorbed from treated soil into alfalfa within 24 hours posttreatment. Residue levels in the plant remained relatively constant during the period from 9 to 15 days posttreatment. No metabolites of diazinon, including diazoxon, were found in any of the soil or alfalfa samples analyzed. No radioactive CO2 was detected as a metabolite of 14C diazinon treatments. Diazinon was expired by alfalfa plants after being absorbed into the plant.
