13. Seasonal Change Of Clothing

2009
This chapter talks about the seasonal change of clothing that is done in Japan. The warm rays of the sun can be felt at the beginning of May. The heavy coats and sweaters are not required any longer. Changes of fashion took place so quickly it makes five-year-old clothing out of date. Clothes that are not worn for five years are like a misers' gold buried in the ground. The T-shirts bought at a supermarket bargain sale at the end of the season were not worn for three years. The author's attachment to the T-shirts prevented her from making up mind to throw them away; hence the T-shirts were again put into chest. The seasonal change of clothing is done four times a year at every turn of the season. Keywords: cherry blossom; heavy coats; seasonal change; summer clothes; sweaters
