Population review 1970: Indonesia.
1970
A recent political history of Indonesia and its relationship to family planning programs is presented. Implementation of a new family planning program in Indonesia will be confined to the 3 islands of Java Madura and Bali where 70% of the population live. To date the Indonesian program has been 1 of the least efficient and most costly programs undertaken. Current costs per acceptor are over $60. It is felt that few Indonesians will be self-disciplined enough to successfully embark on a family planning project.
