Crystal structure of the ZnB/sub approx. 25/ phase

By diffractometric investigation of single crystals, the structure of solid solutions of zinc in ..beta..-(rhomboh.) boron is studied. The coordinates of B and Zn atoms are determined. Magnitudes of all interatomic distances and coordination polyhedra of the Zn atoms are analyzed. A comparison is made between the structure of the solid solutions of transition-metal interstitial atoms of the third period in ..beta..-(rhomboh.) B.
