Design and Implementation of Multiple Output DC-DC Converter with Output Power Sequencing

This work is focused on to design and implementation of multiple output DC-DC converter with output power sequencing for space applications to powering the various subsystems used in satellites consists of digital components such as microcontrollers, FPGAs, DSPs, ADCs, and other devices that operate from multiple input voltages. Proper power sequencing can prevent immediate damage from latch-up, to reduce the peak current and long-term damage from ESD. The power supply is designed using current mode fly back topology with switching frequency of 100 KHz to optimize the switching losses, mass, size of filters and transformer design. UC1846 PWM IC used on the primary side of the converter. The LDO's are used as a post regulators to achieve tight load, line and cross regulations and to get the desired sequencing between the outputs.
