Device and method for analyte assay for diabetes management
2010
Method of managing the value of blood glucose of a diabetic user, the method comprising: performing a plurality of measurements of glucose from physiological fluids of a user with a unit measuring glucose coupled to a management unit of data; check whether a more recent glucose measurement was performed within a first period of predetermined time; based on user selection, recommending insulin bolus amount to (a) correction of glucose only; (B) cover only glucide; or (c) coverage glucides and correction of glucose, the recommendation comprising: checking (336) if the user entered an amount of bolus insulin for correction of glucose within a predetermined third period of time and, if so, (a) alerting (344) the user that insulin can be still physiologically active user in a situation in which the user received insulin; and (b) recommend (312C) an amount of insulin to cover carbohydrate only, otherwise: (1) determining (338) if a preprandial indicator with a glucose measurement performed within the third time period is set predetermined and, if so, (a) alerting (344) the user that insulin can be still physiologically active user in a situation in which the user received insulin; and (b) recommend (312C) an amount of insulin to cover only carbohydrates; (2) determine (340) whether a last glucose measurement is marked postprandial within the third predetermined time period and, if so, (a) alerting (345) the user that a calculation full bolus should be used with a preprandial glucose concentration and coverage glucides only be provided; and (b) recommend (312C) an amount of insulin to cover glucidos only, and announce the insulin bolus recommendation
