THE INFLUENCE OF CHANGES OF ST SEGMENT ON PROGNOSIS OF ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION AFTER PRIMARY PCI

2008
Objective To assess the significance of ST segment changes after primary PCI for acute myocardial infarction(AMI). Methods Fifty-one AMI patients were divided into group A(35 cases) and group B(16 cases) based on whether the elevated ST segment returned to isoelectric level after two weeks of primary PCI,the efficacy and heart function of the two groups were compared. Results Patients in group B were readily to suffer from acute left heart failure and ventricular aneurysm. Conclusion The changes of ST segment after six months of primary PCI for AMI reflect the microcirculation of the heart muscle, which is a convenient and reliable method for prediction of the prognosis and detection of high risk patients.
