The Use of Protection Devices in Vein Graft Intervention

2016
Saphenous vein graft (SVG) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) currently accounts for approximately 6 % of all PCIs and is associated with an increased risk of distal coronary embolization, resulting in periprocedural myocardial infarction, subsequent SVG failure, and death compared with native coronary artery PCI. As a result, PCI of the native artery is preferred for SVG intervention.
