Analysis of Vehicle Friction Coefficient by Simulink/Matlab

The friction coefficient plays an important role in achieving a proper performance of a given physical or dynamic system. This paper describes relationship between friction coefficient, friction component and system performance of vehicle by Simulink/ matlab. It was found that increasing friction component, will increase the undamped natural frequency, and in result, will reduce rise time. Besides, the value of Mass and friction components affects system behavior in terms of increasing or decreasing damping ratio, as well as, increasing or decreasing undamped natural frequency. In addition to that, increasing coefficient parameter will reduce steady state value as well as all response specifications. Index Friction coefficient, friction component, performance, Simulink.
