Estabilidade das alterações tegumentares promovidas pelo aparelho regulador de função Frãnkel 2 (RF-2)

O objetivo deste estudo consistiu em verificar a estabilidade das alteracoes tegumentares promovidas pelo aparelho RF-2, num periodo medio pos-tratamento de 7,11 anos. O presente trabalho avaliou 18 pacientes Classe II, Divisao 1, de Angle, sendo dez meninos e oito meninas, tratados com o Regulador de Funcao Frankel 2, por um periodo de 18 meses. A idade media inicial deste grupo era de 10,78 anos, na fase final de tratamento de 12,45 anos e na pos-tratamento, de 19,56 anos. No periodo de tratamento, estes pacientes foram comparados com um grupo controle, contendo pacientes com ma-oclusao de Classe II nao tratados. As alteracoes tegumentares foram analisadas em telerradiografias em norma lateral. Os efeitos do tratamento comparado ao grupo controle foram obtidos por meio do teste "t" independente.
