CASE REPORT / CAS CLINIQUE KYSTE NEURENTÉRIQUE INTRA DURAL EXTRA MÉDULLAIRE: À PROPOS D'UN CAS INTRADURAL EXTRAMEDULLARY NEURENTERIC CYST: A CASE REPORT

2008
SUMMARY The neurenteric cyst is a rare congenital malformation of central nervous system entering as part of notochordodysraphies. We reported on, a new case of neurenteric cyst in a 16-years old man who presented with a upper cervical spinal cord compression. The imaging showed a cyst located ventral to the spinal cord at the C1 C2 C3 level. A complete resection was performed. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of neurenteric cyst. The post operatory outcome was unfavourable leading to the disease of the patient. The neurenteric cyst is an uncommon and a mild histological lesion. However the localisation in the upper cervical spinal cord, may be associated with severe neurovegetative disorders and a poor outcome.
