The present invention relates to a method for navigation in an ordered list of documents represented by identifiers displayed on a display screen. A first page having a predetermined number of identifiers associated with a first ordered sub-list of documents is displayed. After a control is entered, a second page having the same predetermined number of identifiers associated with a second ordered sub-list of content is displayed. Both sub-lists show the identifiers in the same order as the list of content, the size of each identifier depending on the order number of the associated content within the displayed sub-list. Advantageously, the position of an identifier on the screen depends on the order number of the associated content thereof in the displayed sub-list. The invention also relates to a navigation apparatus for implementing the navigation method.
