Sulfur Resistance of Modified Platinum Y Zeolite

1980
Abstract The sulfur resistance of different modified PtNaHY zeolites has been investigated for n-butane conversion. Addition of Ce or Mo to PtNaHY zeolites leads to catalysts showing an enhanced sulfur resistance. On PtNaHY and PtCeY zeolites, it has been evidenced that sulfur resistance is related to the electronegative character (e.c.) of platinum. In PtMoY zeolite, the electronic state of Pt is not changed and the sulfur resistance has been attributed to a synergetic effect due to Pt-Mo associations.
