Local lamellar structure in dense microemulsions.

The structure of the isotropic phase ${L}_{2}$ occurring in the ternary system sodium $\mathrm{di}\ensuremath{-}2\ensuremath{-}\mathrm{ethylhexylsulfosuccinate}(\mathrm{AOT})\ensuremath{-}\mathrm{water}\ensuremath{-}n\ensuremath{-}\mathrm{heptane}$ is discussed on the basis of small-angle x-ray scattering data. Experimental results are not consistent with an ordered droplet phase but with a local lamellar structure.
