Radio Astronomy at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the USSR Academy of Sciences

The structure of the various radio-astronomy divisions at the Special Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) is described, including the construction and outfitting of the RATAN-600 radio telescope. The results of numerous radio-astronomical observations carried out over ten years on this unique instrument are discussed. The activity of the Leningrad Scientific and Technical Branch of the SAO in the area of radio astronomy is especially noteworthy.
