Application of Harris Hawks Optimization to Solve LFC Issues in Solar Based Unified System

2021
This paper illustrates the Load Frequency Control of solar-thermal system by applying PID and 1 plus fractional order integral-derivative (1-FOID) controller. A new evolutionary technique called Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO) is applied. For getting a better result a perturbation of 0.01 p.u. in area-1 has been applied. This research suggests that 1 plus fractional order integral-derivative (1-FOID) controller performs better performance as compared to previously connected PID controller. HHOtuned1-FOID controller regulates the system frequency during alteration in system load condition. A better result of applied technique is confirmed by enhancing the loading in the control area 1.
