Incongruent melting pure and Yb-doped LaxYySc4-x-y(BO3)4 - LYSB crystals were successfully grown by the Czochralski method. Their structural, linear and nonlinear optical properties are investigated. The laser emission characteristics of the Yb-doped crystal are reported.
