Design of Sunflower System Based on Shape Memory Alloy Actuator

The solar energy provides a renewable energy used to increase the electricity resources which is benefited in many field. The researchers aim to improve the collection of this energy that is using the solar tracker can increase the collection of this energy. There many solar trackers demonstrated its efficiency however, it is not perfect these trackers need electricity. In this work, we propose an intelligent solar system based on the shape memory alloy actuator (SMA) when the collectors acquire sunflowers ability for tracking the sun. These alloys are smart materials that can change forms when they heated or cooled. The thermo-mechanical characteristics of the SMA makes him a good sensor and actuator for tracking application. In this way, Numerical simulations at different temperatures, to show the ability of the solar system in various conditions tracking the sun.
