Histomorfometria tegumentar de ratas wistar ooforectomizadas

2018
The skin is the largest organ in the body, which makes it a chronological factor of our age. And among the hormones that influence the integument we have the estrogen, which unleashes several effects on it, as the reduction of its elasticity due to the case of low levels of hormones. As to the bilateral oophorectomy, it causes an abrupt reduction of serum estrogen levels and is used as a surgical model for menopause induction. Thus, the study aimed to analyze the micro anatomical components of the skin of oophorectomized rats. 19 adult female rats, Wistar lineage, were used, weighing about 300g, coming from the UFPE vivarium. This study was a case-control one, and the animals were divided into two groups. The results showed that Group I presented a greater total thickness of the skin, an increased thickness of the layers of the epidermis and a higher percentage of fibroblasts and collagen fibers in relation to group II, thus it is concluded that both groups presented all cells of tegumentary lineage, however the group II presented a smaller thickness of the skin, layers of the epidermis and percentage of collagen fibers and fibroblasts, implying that, in addition to estrogen, other hormones also can exert influence on the integument.
