Soundproofing layer with an integral rib structure.

1997
A BARRIER SONICA (10) for a vehicle having a barrier wall comprising a floor level (23) and a wall area FIREWALL (25) between which EXTEND AN AREA OF INCOMING HOLLOW FOR A WHEEL (41) and a AREA a drive train (42). BARRIER SONICA (10) includes a mass (12) covering at least a portion of the barrier wall layer. LAYER MASICA (12) having an inner surface (16) facing the barrier wall with a peripheral rib formed integrally (52) projecting therefrom. A first group of elongated ribs (48) intersects and joins a second set of elongated ribs (50). The first and second groups of elongated ribs (48, 50) are placed within an enclosed area. Each rib STRETCHED (48, 50) comprises an upper portion formed integrally with the inner (16) layer MASICA wall and a bottom portion with an outer edge (54, 60) ADAPTED TO LOOK AT LEAST TO THE WALL BARRIER . Each rib STRETCHED (48) of the first ridge group ALSO has opposite ends formed severally liable with the rib PERIFERICA (52) TO STRENGTHEN ASI rib PERIFERICA AGAINST bending moments DUE TO THE FORCES OF COMPRESSION APPLIED TO THE OUTER SURFACE LAYER MASICA. Each rib STRETCHED (50) of the second ridge group has opposite ends formed integrally WITH ANY OF THE RIBS ADJACENT (48) the first group of ribs or rib PERIFERICA (52) and an adjacent rib (48) of the first group TO STRENGTHEN rib thus further PERIFERICA rIB (52) AGAINST bending moments. THE FIRST GROUP OF INTERIOR RIBS STANDS COAT MASICA A DISTANCE GREATER THAN THE SECOND GROUP OF RIBS FOR GRANTING ASI higher levels of impact resistance outer surface of MASICA SURFACE LAYER.
