Die Eschen-Ahornwälder des Süderberglandes

The ash-maple forest of the Suderbergland, a part of the Rheinisches Schiefergebirge, are discribed by means of a phytosociological tabel. The syntaxonomical treatment follows Muller. The Fraxino-Aceretum (Koch 1926) em. Muller 1966 grows on north-facing screes and in rocky gorges with a cool, humid climate. Acer pseudoplatanus and Fraxinus excelsior are the main tree species accompanied by Ulmus glabra
