Development of continuity in ambulatory care in an ob/gyn residency program

Abstract With the advent of increased concentration on primary and preventive care in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, this busy county residency program restructured its ambulatory clinic system to provide continuity of care for all patients. Despite many obstacles in establishing this new program, its success has been evidenced by resident, nursing, and patient satisfaction. The structure now allows a larger emphasis to be placed on patient education and preventive care.
