Spinal Evoked Potentials and Abnormal Sensory Modalities in Spinal Cord Injuries and Peripheral Neuropathies

Cz-Fpz SEP components [Pl(P36), N1(N48), P2(P60), N2(N75)] following stimulation of the posterior tibial nerve at the ankle were statistically analyzed with respect to the grade of sensory disturbances (thermal and vibratory sensation) in 27 patients with diabetic neuropathy, incomplete spinal cord injury and hemiplegia. Thermal sensation was weakly associated with P1 and P2, whereas vibratory sensation was weakly associated with Pl.
