Proceedings of the Twenty-Seventh Annual Meeting

The Twenty-Seventh Annual Meeting of the Eastern Branch, Entomological Society of America, was held at the Lord Baltimore Hotel, Baltimore, Maryland, on Monday and Tuesday, November 21 and 22, 1955. Dr. Ellsworth H. Wheeler, Chairman, and Dr, F. W. Poos, Vice-Chairman, presided during the two-day sessions in which 50 talks or papers were presented. In addition, an informal discussion dealing with street tree and home yard insect pest control problems was presided over by W. B. Becker the evening of November 21. Other discussion leaders were C. C. Hamilton, T. W. Kerr, S. F. Potts and J. C. Schread. Dr. George C. Decker, president of the parent association, gave a short talk and extended a cordial invitation to all to attend the annual meeting of the parent association which was to be held in Cincinnati in December. Mr. Robert H. Nelson, newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Entomological Society of America, reviewed some of the accomplishments and problems of the parent society.
