DENEYSEL DİYABETTE İNSÜLİNİN BÖBREK DOKUSU ÜZERİNE OLAN ETKİLERİ
2015
We investigated the effect of insulin therapy on renal damage in experimentally induced diabetic rats. In this study 21 male Sprague-Dawley rats were used. The rats were divided into 3 groups, diabetic (n = 7) , diabetic + insulin therapy (n = 7), and control (n = 7). Statistically significant differences were identified in the evaluation of histopathological findings between all groups. Histopathological findings showed an expansion of the mesangial matrix, a reduction in the range of Bowman’s space, disintegration of tubular epithelium, distortion and loss of brush-edge epithelial tubules, and presence of Armani Ebstein lesions in the diabetic group. Disintegration of tubular epithelium, desquamated epithelial cells in the tubule lumen and presence of Armani Ebstein lesions were observed in the Diabetes +Insulin therapy group. There was a smaller expansion of the mesangial matrix and reduction in the range of Bowman’s space in the Diabetes+Insulin group when compared to the diabetes only group. 0.5 U / kg of insulin therapy has protective effects on diabetic nephropathy, but this dose is low, and we suggest using higher doses of insulin in investigating the effects of insulin therapy on diabetic nephropathy
