X-ray and thermal studies on CsUMoO system

Abstract Solid state reactions of U0 2 M00 4 and CS 2 Mo0 4 up to 1023 K have been investigated. Two phases of the compound Cs 2 UO 2 (Mo0 2 ) 4 and a single phase compound Cs 2 (UO 2 ) 2 (Mo0 4 ) 3 have been isolated and characterised by Thermal, X-ray Diffraction (XRD), chemical and IR methods. The XRD patterns of the two phases of the compound Cs 2 UO 2 (Mo0 4 ) 2 could be indexed on orthorhombic whereas that of Cs 2 (UO 2 ) 2 (Mo0 4 ) 3 on monoclinic systems. Cell parameters of these compounds are reported here.
