The ultrasonic transducer

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a high-function adjustment layer in an array of transducers which can restrict lateral vibrations, improve directional characteristics, make processability favorable and moreover cause ultrasonic attenuation problems less likely to occur. SOLUTION: A composite matching layer 16 includes a plurality of matching devices 17 and a plurality of separators 18. These two have an equal acoustic impedance, provided that the matching devices 17 are each made of a non-rubber based high molecular material, while the separators 18 are each of a rubber-based material. That is, the matching device 17 is larger than the separator 18 in elastic modulus. Some of the matching devices 17 can continue to one another.
