Minimally Invasive Techniques for Management of Urachal Anomalies and Posterior Bladder Pathology

2020
The chapter examines how advancements of minimally invasive and especially robotic surgery in pediatric urology have improved our ability to treat urachal anomalies and posterior bladder lesions. It is important to understand how these processes present and their natural history as this will affect how these lesions are managed, including surgical approach. If a minimally invasive approach is a viable option then the surgeon must be facile with all aspects of the operation including positioning of the patient, placement of ports, and instruments to be used. Equally important, the surgeon must be prepared to manage any complication that arises.
