Spatial Poisson Processes

2020
A point process is a random set of “points” scattered in a “space”. Such processes appear in various forms in nature, such as, for instance, the stars in the sky, the small trees in the African savanna, the impacts of lightnings in the Great Plains, the crashes in the stock market or the arrival times of cars at a highway toll.
