Design, fabrication and characterization of imprinted electrodes using sol-gel method

2017
In this research, sol-gel method has been applied to prepare an imprinting thin film at the surface of gold substrate. Which acts as imprinting sensor. Sol-gel solution has prepared by using tetraethoxysilane and 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane as precursors in acid catalysis condition, successfully. After that, a suspension contains sol-gel stock solution and E-coli bacteria as template, was applied for fabricating sol-gel thin film at the surface of gold substrate using dip coating. The effective parameters on film quality and thickness such as kinds of precursor, the concentration of precursors, catalysis conditions, time and speed of dip coating were studied, to obtain an efficient sensor. The sensor was characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-ray Diffraction Spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. finally the sensor efficiency to determination of E-coli has been investigated by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
