Effect of early high volume hemofiltration on patients with severe acute pancreatitis.

2009
Objective To investigate the effect of early high volume hemofiltration in patients with severe acute pancreatitis. Methods Thirty patients with severe acute pancreatitis were divided into two groups.Fifteen patients were treated with early high volume hemofiltration, while the other to fifteen patients with conventional therapy.Changes of BUN,Cr,AST,ALT,PaO2,PaO2/FiO2,IL-1,TNF-α and IL-10 were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment. Results The levels of BUN,Cr,AST,ALT,IL-1,TNF-α and IL-10 in the peripheral plasma in early high volume hemofiltration group were lower than the conventional therapy group. The levels of PaO2 PaO2/FiO2 in the arterial blood in early high volume hemofiltration group were higher than the conventional therapy group. Conclusion Early high volume hemofiltration could significantly improve unstable homeostasis. It is considered an effective method to treat patients with server acute pancreatitis.
