APPLICATION ATTENTION RELEVANCE CONFIDENCE SATISFACTION (ARCS) MODELS WITH PROBLEM SOLVING METHOD TO IMPROVE HIGH ORDER THINKING SKILLS OF STUDENT

This research was motivated by the low order thinking skills of students because low motivation to learn of student and model that applied the teacher in the learning process did not facilitate the students in the training of high order thinking skills. The research aims to determine the increase in high order thinking skills of students through the application of learning Attentian Relevance confidance Satisfaction (ARCS) models with problem solving method. The research method was Quasi-experimental with Nonequivalent Preetest posttest control group design. A sample of 52 people were taken through purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used is the test high order thinking skilss, observation sheets and questionnaires motivation to learn. The results showed that the t arithmetic is 10.92 and t of t table is 2.68. Then t arithmetic > t table so Hypothesis 1 (H1) is accepted that application of learning Attention Relevance Confidaence and Satisfaction (ARCS) models with problem solving method improve higher order thinking skiloss of student. Increasing students' thinking skills in analyzing skills of the measurement of N-gain was 0.69 (medium), to evaluate the skills of 0.56 (medium) and the skills to create 0.31 (medium). Motivation for learning is very good, attention indicators (interest) 91.3% (very goog), an indicator of confidence of 79.8% (good) and learn the satisfaction indicator 88.1% (very good).
